From a random pile of doodles I had yet to upload to the computer, here are my favorite five doodles. All of the doodles in this pile were drawn between 2019 and 2024 and are unfiltered.
The Top 5 Doodles (from a random pile)
“Well, I Don’t Know What to Put in this Space”
Definitely the weakest of the top 5, I still like it a lot. Notice the puppet getting controlled in the top right corner, being coerced into seizing an apple on a platform. He is sitting on a throne that is being held up by the multitudes of humans. There is a river a tears, some interesting creatures, and then… well, I guess I didn’t know what to put in that space.
4. “How Can You Be Infinite?”
The doodle in the middle is neat, sure. But I really like the exchange that emerged between the two beings on the right and left side. On the right, the individual asks, “How Infinite Are You?”
Then on the left, our character to the right responds, “How Can You Be Infinite?”
Perhaps the thingy in between them answers the questions, but for real – probably not.

“Thoughts That Don’t Have Words”
The doodle dude at the bottom is obviously having some weird, cyclical thoughts. One of the goals I had with my first novel Laenif was to show that thoughts can exist outside of the boundaries of words. And when a mind is restricted to thinking based only in language, which is designed to communicate between individuals - not one's self -, it can be more easily controllable by religious, educational, and political systems. (I also recognize the irony of using words to describe an image of ‘thoughts that don’t have words.’)

“Another Untitled Mushroom”
The less the conscious mind is involved in a given doodle, the more likely that the drawing will emerge as one of two things: mushrooms or faces. I can only speculate the reason for this, but I’ve always been careful when drawing around people because a mushroom and can look an awful lot like a cock at a quick glance. I like this mushroom doodle because it neither manifests as a clear face nor looks like genitalia. Regardless, if this doodle turns you on… mission accomplished.

“Stay Out of My Bubble”
I wrote the following words on a piece paper: “All I Have is My Mind, Body, and Soul. Breathe. You’re Alive and Beautiful.” I also drew a circle and wrote: “Stay Out of My Bubble.” And then, well, I started to doodle. Remove your thoughts from your head and let the hand do the thing that it’s going to doodle. When I decided to start sharing my writing, music, and doodles, I honestly was not expecting these weird drawings to be noticed, but the love has been undeniable even as I’m sitting here like, “Really?”
The reason for this is simple, I guess. I was always told in school that my writing was good and when it came to my doodles, it was seen as a distraction. “That boy’s not paying attention, he’s just drawing weird shit…” And my sisters always received praise for their painting skills because they could paint and sketch things the way they actually looked, which is something I still can’t do. (That bird does not look like a real fucking bird.) Anyway… stay out of my bubble.

If I make money from doodles to reinvest in artistic endeavors, then I’m all for it. I’m working on posters and willing to sell original copies – either ones already drawn or I can doodle something just for you.
