"A Cosmic Shore - Poem by BW Derge from "Pillars of Salt, Book Two: Fuck Your Tea and Crumpets" - written in 2004
A Cosmic Shore
We are on but a cosmic shore
Of unprecedented oceans
Of bright suns evermore
Slowly pulling me in-
-
I have waded
I have swam
I sat on the sand
Staring at horizons
-

The invisible sun
Lost in a possibility
Of some cosmic journey
Beckoning ceaselessly
-
I had no time to build a ship
No time to prepare for this
So I lay on my back in waves
Let the tide carry me away
-

The dark ocean water
Pulls me deeper in-
Never escape the undertow
Like a God I’ll never know-
-
Stuck on beaches of delusion
Dreaming of the possibility
Waiting for minds to breach
The waves of holy oceans
-

Pull me deeper in
I don’t know where
These waves will take me
I drift forever alone-
-
In a dead man’s float
Far away from Oceanside
Freedom through restriction
As new worlds soon begin-
-
Forever I drift-
Further farther away
Toward truth or nothing
Breach the ocean waves
