"From the Unknown" - Poem by BW Derge from "Pillars of Salt, Book One: The Vultures of Orpheus" - written in 2005
From the Unknown
Cold dirt sits under neon suns
When skies open up, it rains
As water and ground mix as one
Seeds created, springing towards
Massive energy-filled explosions-
Seeds grow and more seeds grow
Until all life comes through eternity
Reflecting in eroding reflections

Life blasts from powerful seeds
Lingering in fragmented breaths
Allowing what is allowed to bleed
What souls are farther from death?-
The phantoms of entropic potential
Who never obtained body or life,
Who never experienced reality?
Or is every individual breathing alive
Condemned to die, fade like a flame-
A fire of life that was just a dream?

-
And if so, it was but a dim glow
When compared to beautiful energy
Extending to places never known-
We can strive to create the astounding
With the holy time we have to manipulate
And the beauty will grow, it is inevitable-
Minds crave more to stimulate.

Reach out to the possibilities of the universe-
Reach deep within inside your mind
And buried beneath troves of fear and sadness,
A massive amount of treasure, you will find
Call it Buddha, call it God, or call it Christ
As long as you let it lead your mind away
To our mind’s hidden paradise.
Releasing impulse and flesh
Into the world for life to unwind
Is a relentless madness
Where souls cannot be found;
Enjoy being a seed while you can-
Find what there is to find,
And if you don’t fade away-
Expand your mind-
