Poem by BW Derge from "Pillars of Salt, Book One: The Vultures of Orpheus" (2004)

Flee

Gentle child, go

Return home

Don’t be slow

The world is forever

We will be together

When Gods glow through

When life is returned

Back into you-

Child, run away

There is no choice

You cannot stay

There is nothing more

Beyond confusing pain

You will only find death

If you continue to ignore

The love there is to gain

If you don’t leave now-

You will go insane

To stay here

Is a death wish

There is nothing new

To accomplish-

And I can guarantee

Your life is just a dream

And one day you’ll see

That after your body dies-

There is so much to redeem

So goodbye-

You could return again

But I don’t know why you’d bother

I don’t know why you would care-

I am no different from you

But you’re breathing my air

I have too much to ensue

And you cannot take it-

I can’t spare to give a shit

About you fading…

Fleeing, drifting away

No longer debating

If you should stay-
