The Last Man
poem by BW Derge
There will be one last man
When everyone else is either dead
Or glued to the robotic machine...
There he will stand regardless-
The last man.
-
He will see the truth
Where others see only splinters-
He will witness beauty
As others scream of death and pain-
There will be one last man.
-
Before all gives way
To some sky-net alternate horror
Of reality-
The androids get control of everything
And we become their slaves.
-
“It’s only social media, everyone does it-“
And yet heroin is illegal in all fifty states.

Fine, that’s okay,
But how did coke get lumped into that
Nonsense?
Two completely different things-
-
So why don’t you lay off for a week?
Doesn’t that mean you’re addicted?
Stop fucking scrolling
And give me but an inch of your true self
Beneath the hell that exists
Of what became of the internet.
-
It’s a cesspool.
What happened to you?
I miss you.
You were something else
Before you started posting yourself
All over, like vomit, on the internet.
-

We didn’t even have television
But a hundred years ago,
We didn’t even get radio
Until another seventy-five years
Before that...
-
So obviously, if we
Existed for over a thousand centuries,
There must’ve been something more
Innate-
Within us-
To enliven us,
Or at least keep us entertained-

-
Connect back to that crap now called Chakras-
The bull crap may not be as shitty as you think
For kundalini is the spirit of Jesus
And through love,
We are all one.
So saddle up whatever horse
Lets you see the truth
And let’s get riding-
Earth be damned
If we truly be
The last generation of Man.
