The Mechanical Afterglow of Humankind

"Mechanical Afterglow" - Poem by BW Derge from "Mars Jazz" - written in 2013

Mechanical Afterglow

Not too fast there

The words flood off the tongue

Splash into another set of ears

To be misconstrued

To define the originating mind

As abstract reflections-

Disorganized ball

Of loose spitting energy sparks

Broken open down

The lateral slurring vocals

Twisting around the abdomen

Of a serpentine wisdom.

Lustful hazed stares

Trudge through the abysmal filth

Burdened by a lost wonder gnawing

At their intestines

Crawling across blood ridden

Microscopic nightmares

Hazardous in the way

Entropic atoms orbit thoughts-

Poem - Mechanical Afterglow

Cavernous cavities rot away

The intention felt so true

And what is left

Mangles the perception of decades

Glistening

In a mechanical afterglow of humankind:

Shimmering red faint sweat jogging

Across a bruise

Left away in barbarian warfare aftermath

And blacked out,

The chaotic warping

Of a double helix feasibility chewed

Swallowed to be regurgitated

Into outer space abyss

Surrounded by lost lonely ghosts

Of holy misshapen reality

Never to see the light of daybreak

Reaching through flames

From stars too far away to realize

The river never flows.

Liquid nitrogen courses through

Dried alien vegetable veins…

Light particles bounce around

The emptiness between

Like fallen vacant eyesores broken

Across galactic debris-

Mechanical Afterglow poem

Oblivion collapses into orbiting shards

Of violet forgotten orbs

Circling around the skewed misconception

Of fleeting words:

Fluttering specks of dull sensations

Persisting in mundane days

Slowly forming storms of thunderous

Black matter conscience

Submerging subliminal refractions

Of rage suppressed depths.

Forlorn into cataclysmic phlegmatic gazes

Characterized by aggression

Passively fluttering beneath

Utterly pallid blank paintings

Hung across illusionary cosmic walls

In panged imaginations

Appalled by the endless infinite sea

Of empty oyster shells

Lulled to sleep in July requiems

For whatever once was to be

Into dismal dazed dreams,

So now it goes again, almost gone,

Drifting off out along

A windy ocean of space-time majestic:

Gravitational waves of ionized energy

Whipping solar sailing flares

Surfing off away again,

Recalling being awake

So long ago nowhere-

Mechanical Afterglow - poem by BW Derge

An understanding content face

Of a beautiful elliptical woman

Staring through a fantasy laden

In a dormant turquoise spirit

Evaporating

Into sullen half-hearted efforts,

Grinning softly,

Peering through the thin fabric

Of a collective soul bucket

Designing an escape

From the dark cold sleep alone void.

Awoken, rush free- !

Too fast the words flood off the tongue

To splash into another set of ears

To be misconstrued

And the Ferris wheel swings around

The loop again

And the constipated bag

Of sporadic energy mind

Flings itself out of time

Into vacant emptiness lost

And here again the desire builds

In bland listlessness

Plummeting down back

Into situations surreal:

Abstract black darkness molded

Into stones without shape

Haphazardly awaiting

The moment of motivation

To bust free from the cold rock shackles

And fly-

To flood off the tongue

In a maddening rush of words

To splash into another set of ears

And be misconstrued…

splash into a set of ears to be misconstrued -
