To Take Refuge in Some Mirage
Remember when we used to write
To get out of our head?
Those were the good old days,
When you’d rather be in words
Instead of in the mind racing
Competing against thoughts
As they wrangle emotional bulls
-
It’s a bunch of bullshit when you think about it,
So stop thinking already
And get out of your head
Through the typing fingers
Racing faster than the fear
Hunting the wounded steer-
-
I want to go back
To when hammering
Keyboard keys
Was the single
Most beautiful
Liberating thing-
Take me back
To when I felt
Like a Cosmic King…
-
But the universe is
Just a decayed statue
About to fall into the sea
And become nothing
But sand again...
